MARTHA BAERG

Martha Baerg died July 30. She was born Feb. 25, 1913 in Ukraine. Her family settled in Manitoba in 1926. She accepted Jesus and was baptized in 1928. She earned her RN in 1939 and nursed at the Steinbach (Man.) hospital. She married John Baerg in 1939. They pastored in Mennonite Brethren churches in Hillsboro, Kan. and Mountain Lake, Minn., then in Virgil, Ont. from 1958 to 1976. They ministered at Clearbrook MB Church in B.C. until retiring in 1982 and returning to the Niagara , Ont. region. She worked as a nurse and on the family farm. She had many hobbies and loved music. She was a source of guidance and comfort to others. Predeceased by John in 1999, she leaves children Ruth, John Waldo, Elfrieda, Theodore, Elizabeth; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. The funeral was Aug. 2 at Cornerstone Community Church, Virgil.
