JOHN DERKSEN

John Derksen died June 11. He was born June 14, 1907 in Orenburg, Russia to Johann and Helena Derksen. After his father's death he lived with an uncle until his mother re-married. They immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1925. He married Aganeta Wiebe on Oct. 27, 1929. They lived in Cactus Lake, Bournemouth, then Rabbit Lake, Sask. He rededicated his life to the Lord. They moved to Sumas Prairie, B.C in 1945, joining the Arnold MB Church. He retired from farming in 1964. He volunteered, travelled, fished. They moved to Clearbrook in 1966. Aganeta died in 1983. He married Helen Wiens in 1984. She died 1996. He faithfully nursed each of his wives. His favourite Scripture was Psalm 103. Predeceased by Aganeta, Helen, infant daughter Wilma, son John, he leaves daughters Betty Raymond, Freda Reimer, Agnes Fast, Lena Thielmann, Linda Penner; son Peter; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother. The service was June 16 in Clearbrook MB Church.
