• Edward J. Andres, 80, retired Santa Fe Railroad employee, died unexpectedly at his home on West Sixth Street the evening of Dec. 16. The funeral was held Monday forenoon at the Peterson Funeral Home, with Rev. Arnold Epp officiating. Mr. Andres was a native of the Halstead community and a member of the First Mennonite Church there. He leaves his widow, Margaret, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. W. Bruce Folks of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Boyd E. of Pahrump, Nev. and Chester L. of Hutchinson; on [sic] sister, Mrs. E. A. Renich of Newton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
