TINA LOEWEN

Tina Loewen passed away Feb. 24 in Central Park Lodge, Brandon, Man. She was born Oct. 2, 1912 to Isaac and Helena Steingard in Lichtfeld, Ukraine, the 4th of 13 children. Her faith in Christ began early in life. She had a conversion experience at 12 through the ministry of Rev. Hofer, who came from the US to preach the gospel. In 1924 the family immigrated to Morris, Man., moving to a farm at Minnedosa, Man. in 1930. On Feb. 22, 1931, she married Andrew Loewen of the Moore Park district. She was baptized and joined Justice (Man.) MB Church Sept. 6, 1964. In 1977 they retired from the farm to Brandon and joined Richmond Park MB Church. She was a quiet, unassuming wife and mother, who lived a simple life, trusted God, and relied on prayer and the Word of God, often finding the Psalms most meaningful. She often expressed thankfulness to God that none of her family experienced divorce. Predeceased by Andrew in 1980 and a great-granddaughter, she is mourned by children Henry of St. Paul, Alta., Anne Krueger of Brandon, William of Moore Park, Man., Rudy of Wroxton, Sask., Susan Enns of Abbotsford, B.C., Helen Hiebert of Plum Coulee, Man., John of Moore Park, Linda Penner of Winnipeg and Mary Rose Dueck of Steinbach, Man.; 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
