MARY HENRIETTA ROGALSKY

Mary Henrietta Rogalsky passed away Mar. 5. She was born Dec. 10, 1905 to Henry and Anna Martens in Rosenort, Russia. She accepted the Lord at an early age. In 1923 she married Nickolai Jacob Rogalsky. Shortly afterwards they immigrated to Ontario. Soon they moved to a farm at Glenlea, Man. In 1929 she and Nickolai were baptized in Winkler (Man.) MB Church. They moved to Brandon, Man. and a few years later to Winnipeg. Faced with difficulties, sicknesses and hard times, she drew her strength from the Lord. They moved to Sardis, B.C. in 1947 and Vancouver in 1950. Here she experienced love, kindness and fellowship. She loved her church and friends very much. She was a charter member of Willingdon MB Church in Burnaby, B.C. Nickolai became ill, and she had 2 heart attacks. She is remembered for her self-sacrifice in caring for her husband, devotion to the Lord and commitment to do his will. She was hospitalized for a broken hip Oct. 13, 1990 and remained there the rest of her life, but never complained or questioned. She enjoyed gardening, handcrafts, ladies' mission circle, Bible studies, the Willingdon New Horizons group and entertaining friends and relatives. Singing spiritual songs and prayer were a big part of her life. Predeceased by her husband in 1983, 2 grandsons and 1 sister, she is mourned by her sons Henry and John, both of Clearbrook, B.C.; daughters Marian Janzen, Magdalene Goertzen grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 sister.
