JACOB JOHN FRIESEN

Jacob John Friesen of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away on November 2l. He was born on February 20, 1888 to John and Anna Friesen in Alt Kronsweide, Russia; in 1916 drafted for alternative service in Moscow; was baptized upon confession of faith on August 26,1918 by Rev. Frank Martens; married Sarah Vogt on April 17, 1922; immigrated to Canada in 1923, settling eventually in Mullingar, Sask. where they joined the MB Church; moved to Arnold, B.C. in 1943; his wife died on September 1, 1953; he married Anna (nee Hamm) Fast on April 2, 1955; in 1961 they retired to Clearbrook, and joined the Clearbrook MB Church. He was predeceased by one daughter who died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his wife Anna; four sons and wives: Jake and Beth, Vancouver, Siegfried and Ellie, Williams Lake, Henry and Freda, Abbotsford, and David and Sue, Clearbrook (all B.C.); one daughter, Anne and husband Alfred Friesen of Abbots ford; stepchildren and spouses: John and Mary Fast, Vancouver, Henry and Carol Fast, Winnipeg, Arnold and Marie Fast, Abbotsford, Anne and Henry Klassen, Vancouver, Tina and John Coers, Abbotsford; 44 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held November 26 in the Clearbrook church, with pastor John Baerg and Henry F. Klassen in charge.
