MRS. LINDA SCHMIDT

(Mrs.) Linda Schmidt of Herbert, Sask., passed away on July 6. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Buller on June 14, 1914, near Ernfold, Sask. As a young girl she accepted Christ as her Saviour, and was later baptized and received into the Gnadenau Mennonite Brethren Church in Flowing Well, Sask. She studied for three years at the Herbert Bible School and was active in Sunday school and other church activities. On April 9, 1944, she was married to Alvin Schmidt and the couple eventually settled on the Schmidt homestead. Early in 1973, she became seriously ill with what was diagnosed as cancer. Because of her illness, her husband sold the farm and they moved to Herbert.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, one sister and her parents-in-law. She leaves to mourn her husband Alvin; three sons: Eldo of Moose Jaw, Sask., and Ralph and Murray of Saskatoon; her stepmother Helena Buller of Clearbrook, B.C.; three sisters: (Mrs.) Emma Priebe and (Mrs.) Mary Barkman of Herbert, Sask., and (Mrs.) Irene Braun of Hepburn, Sask.; two brothers: Bill of Herbert and Edward of Saskatoon; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held in the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church, with Jacob Pauls officiating.
