MRS. LEONA REIMER

(Mrs.) Leona Reimer of Fort St. John, B.C. was called home to be with her Lord on November 13. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Fast of Kleefeld, Man. on June 3, 1931. Her spiritual birth came at the age of 17, followed shortly by baptism and active membership in the Kleefeld Evangelical Mennonite Church. In 1957 she volunteered for MCC service as a secretary in Baie Verte, Newfoundland. She met Ernie Reimer there and they were married in 1958. The couple continued to live in frontier areas, in Fort McPherson, N.W.T. for three years, and in Fort St. John , B.C., for 15 years. Leona was active in many church-related activities, teaching a craft and hobby class with children in Newfoundland, leading a sewing circle with Indian and Eskimo women in the Arctic, and serving in Sunday school and Pioneer girls.

The family has many fond memories of a wife and mother who gave of herself for others. Bonds within the family grew until Leona's death at home. She is survived by her husband Ernie; five children, Elsa, Carl, Marla, Anita and Lara; her father; a sister, Grace Kliewer, and four brothers, Vern, Henry, Harold, and Milton.

The funeral was conducted from the North Peace Mennonite Brethren Church on November 19. Over four hundred friends and relatives participated in the service of mourning and praise.
