Retired Businessman, Civic Leader Dies

Goshen, Ind. — Funeral services for Frank S. Ebersole, 89, retired businessman and civic leader here, were held June 30 at the Eighth Street Mennonite Church. He died June 27 after a three-week illness.

Mr. Ebersole was formerly manager of the Goshen Milk Condensary (now Goshen Milk Division) with which he was associated for 46 years. He was a former director and president of the First National Bank, was mayor of Goshen from 1943-47, served on the city council, the school board, and was active in civic organizations.

A native of Sterling, Ill., he attended the former Elkhart Institute and graduated from Goshen College in 1904. He was later business manager of Goshen College for six years, and served on the Mennonite Board of Education. Over the years he was active in various capacities at the Eighth Street Church.

Mrs. Ebersole, the former Lavona Berkey, died in 1958. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Luginbuhl of Westfield, N. J. and Mrs. Kenton Garman of Goshen; four granddaughters; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Smucker of Bluffton, O.
