• Mrs. Henrietta Klaassen, 85, long-time resident of the Elbing community, died Dec. 9 in a Wichita hospital. For the past six years she had resided in Wichita with a son, Fred Klaassen. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Draper's Funeral Home here [Newton] by Rev. Alfred Bartter, pastor of the United Church of Christ. Mrs. Klaassen was born in Germany and was married there to Herman Klaassen in 1901. They came to the Elbing community in 1907. Mr. Klaassen died in 1957. Surviving are four sons, one daughter, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
