MRS. MINNA WOHLGEMUTH

After a short illness, the Lord called (Mrs.) Minna Wohlgemuth of Kitchener, Ontario home on March 26. She was born on February 14, 1888 in the village of Stokof in Poland, the daughter of Henry and Eva Kliewer. At the age of 13 years she surrendered her life to Jesus; she was baptized on the confession of her faith by Rev. Peter Ratzlaff and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church of Deutsch Wymyschle. At the age of 24 she married Henry Wohlgemuth. This marriage was blessed with 10 children. She was predeceased by her husband in 1943, and by four children . In 1949 she emigrated to Canada through Germany with the help of MCC. Here she settled in Kitchener, where she lived surrounded by her children. Two of her sons and one son-in-law served as deacons in her home congregation. She was a faithful and active prayer warrior, as long as health permitted. A funeral service was held on March 28 in the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor John F. Froese and Rev. Johannes Goetze officiating. She is survived by two daughters, Emilie (Mrs. Adolf) Teske and Annie (Mrs. Leonard) Lugowski; one daughter-in-law, Lina (Mrs. Henry) Wohlgemuth; four sons, Albert, Kornelius, and Eugen of Kitchener, and Alfred in Germany; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
