• Henry J. Enns, 75, retired farmer of the Inman community, died unexpectedly Oct. 30 at his home there. Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the Bethel Mennonite Church near Inman with Rev. P. A. Wedel officiating.

HENRY J. ENNS

Henry J. Enns, son of Johann and Eva Pauls Enns, was born near Inman in Reno County, Kan., on April 25, 1890.

He was baptized upon confession of faith in his Redeemer Jesus Christ on Aug. 20, 1911 by Elder Heinrich Toews, and was admitted into the membership of the Bethel Mennonite Church, whose faithful member he remained until his death. He was a faithful church attender and with his family did much to foster the work of the church.

He was married May 26, 1914 to Agatha Fehdrau, with whom he shared life's joys and sorrows until she was taken in death Jan. 4, 1941. To this union were born four children: Linda, who passed away in infancy, Rubena (Mrs. Henry R. Wiens), Menno and Waldo, all of Inman.

On July 6, 1941 he was married to Helen Wiens. She endeared herself as a faithful mother to the children.

The departed was a farmer by profession who loved the out-of-doors, and who found great delight in tending the livestock and growing crops. The parents left the farm in 1950 and lived in Hutchinson for about nine years and then moved to Inman in February, 1959.

The health of Mr. Enns was quite good until the last year of his life. He submitted to surgery in November, 1963. This, however, weakened his physical condition greatly. He passed away on Oct. 30, 1964, reaching the age of 74 years, six months and five days.

His favorite Scripture passage was Romans 8:28. On this promise he arranged his life of faith in God.

He leaves to mourn his sudden passing his wife, Helen, of the home; their children, Rubena and husband, Henry R. Wiens, Menno and wife, Edith, Waldo and wife, Ella Mae; nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jacob and Frank of Inman, George of Buhler, Kan., Abe of Meade, Kan., and Mrs. Eva Fehdrau of Inman; also many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services were held in the Bethel Church on Nov. 2, 1964, conducted by the pastor, Rev. P. A. Wedel. Interment was made in the North Inman cemetery.
