text of obituary:

• C. R. Voth, who was among the pioneer immigrants coming to this area from Russia with the Alexanderwohl group in 1874, died Tuesday evening at the Bethel Home for Aged where he had resided for a number of years. Although 90 years of age, he had not been ill and his death was unexpected. He formerly farmed in the Goessel community, was widely known as a thresherman, and was active in church and community affairs. Surviving are two sons, Waldo Voth of Goessel and Mose Voth of independence and their families, and also a foster daughter, Mrs. Gerhart Ratzloff of Newton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Alexandewohl Church, Rev. Aaron Epp in charge.
