Corn, Okla. &#8212; A car-truck collision on Highway 58 near Watonga, Okla. on Dec. 2 claimed the lives of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Vogt, well-known farm couple of the Colony community and members of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church. 
 
Mr. Vogt, 52, was instantly killed when his wife, at the wheel, drove their car under the rear of a large truck to avoid hitting a bicycle rider.
 
Mrs. Vogt was taken to the McBride Bone and Joint Hospital in Oklahoma City where she underwent surgery for a fractured leg.  She apparently was making a satisfactory recovery when death came unexpectedly on Saturday night, Dec. 8.  The former Eva Penner, she was 54 years of age. 
 
An 11-year-old son, Jay, suffered a concussion and was in critical condition in St. Anthony's Hospital, Oklahoma City. 
 
The Vogts were en route to visit their daughter Willodene, a nurse employed in Wichita, Kan., and a son George G. (Joey) Vogt, Jr., a student at Tabor Colllge [''sic''] in Hillsboro, Kan.  Also surviving are two other daughters, Beverly, a teacher at Littleton, Colo., and Jeanie, who is teaching in the Congo under the M. B. Christian Service program.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Vogt were conducted at the Corn M. B. Church on Friday afternoon, Dec. 7.

Well-Known Corn, Okla. Couple Fatally Hurt in Highway Crash
