ROBERT HENRY JANZEN
Robert Henry Janzen, the son of Nick and Mary Janzen of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, was born on December 17, 1957. The Lord called him home suddenly after an industrial accident on May 13.
Robert was a 1974 graduate of Eden Christian College, a school that did a great deal to mold his character and spiritual life. On June 2, 1974 he was baptized on the confession of his faith at the Bethany Mennonite Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Bob was a lover of sports, especially hockey. His team mates appreciated him for his efforts and clean sportsmanship. Because of his outgoing nature and cheerfulness he had many good friends.
On May 13 a boom crane with which he and his brother were unloading a truck brushed a high-voltage power line, killing Bob and burning his brother, Arthur. The family is comforted by the fact that he was a firm believer in the salvation which comes through Jesus Christ. They have the hope of seeing him again.
A funeral service was held on May 27 in the Bethany Mennonite Church. Rev. David Neufeld officiated, speaking from Mark 13:35-37 on "Examining the Faith".
He leaves to mourn his early passing his parents, Nick and Mary Janzen; his brother, Arthur; his sister Linda (Mrs. Nell) Derstine and her family; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Janzen and Mr. and Mrs. William Andres Sr.; and many relatives and friends.
