MRS. EMILIE LEPP

(Mrs.) Emilie Lepp was born November 19,1888 in Neukirch, Molotschna, in southern Russia, to Paul and Marie Koop. The family later moved to Terek, where she became a child of God, was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren church.

On March 29, 1911 she married John Lepp. During the Russian Revolution, because of outbreaks of violence, they moved to Kuban. From here they emigrated to Canada in 1925, settling on a farm in Manitou, Manitoba, and farming in nearby Purves from 1935 to 1960. In 1960 they retired to Winnipeg and joined the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1973 she moved to Donwood Personal Care Home, where she resided until her passing on January 27.

As long as she was able she willingly participated in church activities. She was particularly interested in missions and the salvation of souls. She prayed much for her family, church and missions.

A funeral service was held January 30 at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, Winnipeg. Rev. William Neufeld and Rev. Victor Toews brought the messages.

One son predeceased her in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband, John Lepp; two daughters and three sons: Mary and Willie Baerg, Greendale, B.C.; John and Margaret Lepp, Elm Creek, Man.; Frank and Kay Lepp, Manitou, Man.; Bill and Agnes Lepp, Steinbach, Man.; Emilie and Dave Reimer, Pilot Mound, Man.; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother in Russia; four sisters-in-law; and many relatives and friends.
