ELIZABETH RATZLAFF UNGER

Elizabeth R. Unger died in a La Junta, Colo. hospital on Friday, April 20, following a long illness. She was born Nov. 1 [sic Nov. 11], 882, at Hillsboro, Kan., and was married to Jacob F. Unger, May 23, 1907, at Hillsboro. The Ungers came to La Junta in 1919.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob, of the family home; two sons, Orlando J. Unger of Fresno, Calif., and Vernon J. Unger of Colorado Springs; three daughters Mrs. Elizabeth Philpott, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Mrs. Eunice McJunkin, Ulysses, Kan., and Mrs. Mariam [sic Miriam] Roesch, La Junta.

Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. John Remple [sic Rempel] and Mrs. Mary Reimer, Hillsboro; Mrs. Emily Weiand, Lehigh,Kan.; Mrs. Dick Wiebe, Reedley, Calif.; and Mrs. A. A. Gaede, Fairview, Okla.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, April 23, with Rev. Paul H. Martin officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
