Mrs. Pankratz was born in South Russia on Nov. 24, 1871, the daughter of Gerhard and Justina (Warkentin) Buschmann. The family migrated to America three yeas later. Her husband died in 1926.

PIONEER SETTLER DIES, AGE 89

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Hillsboro M. B. Church on Nov. 4 for Mrs. Andrew J. Pankratz, 89, who was among the pioneer settlers in the village of Gnadenau south of here in 1874. She died at the Salem Hospital on Oct. 31.

Mrs. Pankratz was born in South Russia on Nov. 24, 1871, the daughter of Gerhard and Justina (Warkentin) Buschmann. The family migrated to America three yeas later. Her husband died in 1926.
