Born in Russia in 1866, Mr. Loewen came to Manitoba with his parents in 1875. They settled south of Winkler. On June 10, 1890 he was married to Anna Hoeppner, who survives with nine of their 15 children. There are 66 grandchildren, 174 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

DEATH OF MANITOBA PIONEER ENDS 71-YEAR MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIP

Winkler, Man. — The death of 95-year-old Jacob Loewen at the Salem Home for Aged here ended a marriage relationship which had lasted for 71 years.

Born in Russia in 1866, Mr. Loewen came to Manitoba with his parents in 1875. They settled south of Winkler. On June 10, 1890 he was married to Anna Hoeppner, who survives with nine of their 15 children. There are 66 grandchildren, 174 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
