John B. Jantzen, son of Abraham and Katharine nee Bartel Jantzen, was born April 27, 1875, in Russia. He came to this county in 1884 and made his home in the Beatrice, Neb., vicinity. He received his education in the Mennonite Parochial school and public school.

On May 22, 1893, he was baptized upon the confession of his faith by Elder Gerhard Penner.

On April 22, 1909, he was united in marriage to Justine Ensz. They made their home on a farm near Beatrice. Later they moved to their present location where they lived nearly 25 years. Two daughters and three sons were born into this home.

After a lingering illness he passed on June 12, 1953. He leaves his wife, Justine; daughters, Mrs. Dora Bates, Beatrice, and Mrs. Hilda Coon, Bellflower, Calif.; sons, Bernard of Jansen, William of Beatrice, Elmer, Moundridge, Kan; a sister, Mrs. Catharine Jantzen, Beatrice; a brother, Jacob, Beatrice; 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

JOHN B. JANTZEN

John B. Jantzen, son of Abraham and Katharine nee Bartel Jantzen, was born April 27, 1875, in Russia. He came to this county in 1884 and made his home in the Beatrice, Neb., vicinity. He received his education in the Mennonite Parochial school and public school.

On May 22, 1893, he was baptized upon the confession of his faith by Elder Gerhard Penner.
