ALBERT KOEHN
The son of George J. and Maria Koehn, Albert Koehn was born on April 8, 1928 near Herbert, Sask. The family farmed for many years in Saskatchewan, and Albert settled in Swift Current in 1944. On October 6, 1951 he married Elsie Kettler, and the Lord blessed them with six children.
In 1955 both he and his wife accepted Jesus as their Saviour. On confession of their faith they were baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church. Seven months before his passing he rededicated his life to the Lord and rejoiced in renewed fellowship with the Lord. He enjoyed flying his private airplane. While landing the plane on April 11, it crashed. Severe burns led to his passing the next day.
A funeral service was held on April 15 at the Swift Current Mennonite Brethren Church. Pastor Peter Nikkel and F. J. Peters spoke.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Elsie; four daughters, (Mrs.) Sharon Toelle, Debbie, Patricia, and Teresa; two sons, James and Timothy; one grandson, Alfred Toelle; his second mother, (Mrs.) Elizabeth Koehn; six sisters; four brothers; and numerous relatives and friends.
