— The aged Martin Claassen of the Elbing community died at a convalescent home in El Dorado Monday, May 26. He was 92 years of age. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Anna Kliewer and Mrs. Augusta Brenner of Whitewater, Mrs. Lottie Willcut of Newton, Otto of Topeka and Herman of Osawatomie; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lizzie Claassen of Newton; two brothers, Carl and Herman Claassen of Newton, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Ewert of Whitewater; five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. He was a member of the Evangelical church. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternon [sic] at the Smith mortuary, Whitewater, in charge of Rev. Walter H. Dyck.
