—  The Christmas Day car crash southeast of Buhler claimed its third victim —  all members of a McPherson family — with the death of Jacob T. Doerksen, 82, early Tuesdy [''sic''] in a Hutchinson hospital.  Mr. Doerksen's two sisters, Gertrude and Tina Doerksen, 70 and 68 years of age, died in the wreckage of their car.  Three Buhler youths in the other car escaped with comparatively minor injuries.  Double funeral services for the sisters were held Dec. 28 in the Church of the Brethren at McPherson.  Services for their brother are scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the same church.  The Doerksens had attended a Christmas gathering at the J. W. Kroeker home, Buhler.

Jacob T. Doerksen, son of Gearhard [''sic'' Gerhard] and Sarah [''sic'' Sara] Thiessen Doerksen, was born Dec. 29, 1880, at Buhler, Kan.  He attended the Buhler and Medora schools and continued his education by attending McPherson College and receiving his degree.  As a young man of 25, he took a six-month trip to Russia.     
In 1911, he came to McPherson and transferred his church membership from the Zoar K. M. B.  Church of Inman to the Church of the Brethren, and he had remained loyal to his Savior through the years.   
Jake, as he was affectionately known, had taught school for eight years and was then associated with the real estate business with headquarters at McPherson, but with the majority of his work in western Kansas.
The fatal car accident near Buhler, Christmas afternoon Dec. 25, 1960, which had taken the lives of his sisters Gertrude and Justina Doerksen, had seriously injured Mr. Doerksen, with his passing occurring at the Grace Hospital of Hutchinson, early Tuesday morning, Jan. 3, 1961.     
J. T. Doerksen was a good Christian man with a friendly and congenial nature.  He will be missed in the community of which he had made himself a part.
