Year-End Highway Accidents Fatal To Nebraska, Oklahoma Youths

HENDERSON, NEB. YOUTH AND STUDENT AT TABOR COLLEGE FROM CORN, OKLA. VICTIMS

A teen-age Henderson, Neb. youth and a student at Tabor College from Corn, Okla. met instant death in separate highway accidents during the last week of 1960, according to reports reaching the Review.

The victims were Dwight N. Regier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Regier of Henderson, and Dean Deutschendorf, son of Mrs. Anna Deutschendorf of Corn and presently residing at Hillsboro, Kan.

The Henderson young man and a companion, 15-year-old Perry Siebert, were riding their bicycles to Bradshaw the evening of Dec. 26 when an approaching pick-up truck hit the Regier youth. Siebert had wheeled his bicycle off the road and tried to warn Dwight but it was too late.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Henderson Mennonite Brethren Church.

Car Turns Over

The Deutschendorf youth, a junior at Tabor, and three friends from Clinton, Okla. were returning to Clinton after attending a holiday basketball tournament at Oklahoma city when their car skidded on the approach to a bridge, turned over and crushed Deutschendorf. The other three youths were not seriously hurt.

Funeral services were held Saturday forenoon at the Corn M. B. Church.

Relatives at Henderson also received word that Dietrick T. [sic Dietrich P.] Thiessen of Dalmeny, Sask. died Dec. 27 of injuries received in a highway accident Dec. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Thiessen had visited Henderson last year while on a tour of the United States.
