Native of Russia, 88, Dies in California
Reedley, Calif. — Death removed another of the early-day Mennonite immigrants from Russia with the passing here of Mrs. Maria Berg, 88. She died at the Reedley Home for Aged on Jan. 2 after a long illness.
Great-grandmother Berg had lived in the Dinuba vicinity for 34 years. Her large family of survivors includes seven sons, four daughters, 33 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Four surviving sisters live in Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held at the Dinuba M. B. church on Jan. 6, Rev. H. R. Wiens officiating.
