New Wilmington, Pa. — A horse drawn buggy was struck head-on by a speeding car near here, resulting in instant death for Mrs. Joe D. Mast, 71, who was riding in the buggy with her son-in-law, Dan J. Byler. He escaped with scratches and bruises. | |||
The accident occurred about one-half mile from Mrs. Mast's home. The horse was instantly killed and the entrails scattered through the interior of the car. | |||
Mrs. Mast is survived by four sons and a single daughter, Sarah, who lived with her. Funeral services were held Dec. 2 and the Mast farm. | |||

FATALLY HURT WHEN HORSE AND BUGGY IS HIT BY SPEEDING CAR
New Wilmington, Pa. — A horse drawn buggy was struck head-on by a speeding car near here, resulting in instant death for Mrs. Joe D. Mast, 71, who was riding in the buggy with her son-in-law, Dan J. Byler. He escaped with scratches and bruises.
The accident occurred about one-half mile from Mrs. Mast's home. The horse was instantly killed and the entrails scattered through the interior of the car.
