Bluffton, O. Civic Leader Dies

Bluffton, Ohio. — A heart attack suffered at his home here Oct. 31 claimed the life of D. W. Bixler, 73, well-known Bluffton resident who had long been active in community affairs.

Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at the First Mennonite church, of which he was an active member.

Mr. Bixler was formerly assistant cashier of the Commercial bank here, and more recently had been credit manager for the Triplett Electric Co. He had served as president and treasurer of the Bluffton Community Hospital board, and as a member of the Mennonite Memorial Home board.

His wife, the former Dora Tschantz, preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Maureen of Philadelphia; one son, Roland of New Haven, Conn.; two grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.
