Youth Falls From Boat, Drowns
Matsqui, B. C. — While enjoying a speedboat ride with his brother on Hatzic Lake near Mission, 15-year-old Ben Brown fell from the boat and drowned. Initial efforts to recover the body were unsuccessful.
Arnold Brown made an attempt to save his brother, but to no avail. Arnold was pulled from the water by his father and a bystander.
The youth, who had planned to enter Grade10 at the Mennonite Educational Institute, is survived by the parents, Henry Browns, two sisters and six brothers.
