• Funeral services were held March 15 for retired-farmer stockman and teacher Theodore “Ted” James Regier, Sr., 73, at Zion Mennonite Church, Elbing, with Loris Habegger officiating. He died March 12 at Bethel Home for Aged in Newton. Burial was in the church cemetery. He taught for 20 years in schools in Kansas and Colorado. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane; two sons, Theodore Regier, Jr., of Warden, Wash., and Louis L. Regier of Newton; one daughter, Betty Jo Kincade of Claremore, Okla.; two brothers, Paul G. Regier of Elbing and Philip J. Regier of rural Newton; one sister, Johanna E. Millbrun of Paradise, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
