Miss Driedger was found dead in her house trailer by her pupils in the Archibald school ten miles north of Manitoba. When she did not show up to call school some of the pupils knocked on the trailer door thinking their teacher had overslept. They got no reply and opened the door only to discover the tragedy.

With Miss Driedger was Mary Lou, a 14 year-old Indian girl from Koustack, north-east of Lake Winnipeg, where Miss Driedger had taught the previous two years with her father.

The trailer was filled with propane gas fumes and one of the boys ran to a nearby farmhouse to telephone the Manitou doctor. The teacher was already dead when medical help arrived but the Indian girl has since recovered.

Miss Driedger was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Driedger of Chortitz. She attended the Winkler Collegiate in 1949 to 1951 and was graduated from the Manitoba Normal School three years ago.

Young Teacher Found Dead In Trailer

MISS EVA DRIEDGER OF WINKLER, MAN. VICTIM OF GAS POISONING

Winkler, Manitoba. — Funeral services for Miss Eva Cornelia Driedger, 23, were held from the Bergthaler church here Saturday, Oct. 5, with Rev. J. M. Pauls, assisted by Rev. William Born and Rev. W. J. Peters, officiating.

Miss Driedger was found dead in her house trailer by her pupils in the Archibald school ten miles north of Manitoba.
