DEATH TAKES AGED KING OF NORWAY

The world's oldest reigning monarch, King Haakon VII of Norway, died Sept. 21.

King Haakon was born Aug. 3, 1872 and thus was 85 years old at the time of his death. He ruled for 52 years.

His only child, Crown Prince Olav, 54, will become the country's new king, formal installation to take place after a period of mourning.
