— John P. Bartel, 75, of Halstead passed away at the Halstead hospital Sunday after a long illness. He was a native of the Moundridge community and farmed there for a number of years before moving to Halstead nine years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Garden Township Mennonite church, in charge of Rev. Victor Graber, assisted by Rev. J. M. Janzen. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Clara Klein of Detroit; a brother, David of Halstead, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Friesen of ElDorado.
