RETIRED ILLINOIS FARMER CALLED AWAY
Washburn, Ill. — Funeral services were held recently at the Metamora Mennonite church for Smanuel J. [sic Emmanuel Joseph] Schertz, 70, a prominent farmer in the Washburn community for many years, who passed away at his home here on July 26.
Mr. Schertz retired from the farm in 1949.
The services were in charge of Rev. Roy Bucher, pastor of the Metamora church. Mr. Schertz was a former trustee of the church.
