Investigators reported the youth's companions apparently ignored his cries for help, thinking he was only jesting. The body was recovered by a lake resident, but artificial respiration was of no avail.

16-YEAR-OLD YOUTH DROWNS WHEN CRIES FOR HELP ARE UNHEEDED

Goshen, Ind. — Funeral services were held Sunday at the North Goshen Mennonite Church for Wallace Lee Moist, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moist of the Southwest community who drowned while swimming in Waubee Lake. Rev. Russell Krabill officiated.

Investigators reported the youth's companions apparently ignored his cries for help, thinking he was only jesting. The body was recovered by a lake resident, but artificial respiration was of no avail.
