<center><h3>PARENTS SEE SON PULLED DOWN BY UNDERTOW AT SAVANNAH BEACH, GA.</h3></center>
Louisville, Ga. &#8212; Funeral services were held May 26 in the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite settlement for Merle Peters, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Peters who lost his life by drowning in the Atlantic Ocean.
The tragedy occurred during a family outing at Savannah Beach.  The parents and grandmother were watching a group swimming in the ocean when they saw Merle pulled out to sea by the undertow.  One of the swimmers returned to shore for a boat, but the youth could not be found.  The body was recovered several days later about a half mile away.
The settlement at Louisville was established within recent years by members of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite from several states.

PARENTS SEE SON PULLED DOWN BY UNDERTOW AT SAVANNAH BEACH, GA.

Louisville, Ga. — Funeral services were held May 26 in the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite settlement for Merle Peters, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Peters who lost his life by drowning in the Atlantic Ocean.
