— Mrs. Marietta Brunk, 83, of Newton, passed away at the Mercy hospital in Moundridge on Thursday, July 24. Funeral services were conducted last Sunday afternoon with a brief service at the Moody’s Funeral chapel here, followed by services at the West Liberty Mennonite church west of Elyria. Taking part in the services were Rev. Laurence Horst, Dr. Fred Brenneman, Rev. Earl Buckwalter and Rev. M. M. Troyer. Mrs. Brunk was the widow of Rev. Joseph F. Brunk, well known minister of the (Old) Mennonite church who died in 1943. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. W Remer of Newton and Mrs. Julia E. Hawthorne of McPherson, seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
