PETER ABRAM EPP

Peter Epp was born April 10, 1884 in Rueckenau, S. Russia. He trained for the teaching profession there and also married Suzanna Martens in 1916. Together with two sons they came to Clairmont, Alberta in 1923. Two more children were born to them there. He was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren congregation.

While in Alberta Mr. Epp occupied himself with farming; first in Peoria and then for a longer period in La Glace. Twenty-two of their later years were spent in Yarrow, B.C. In 1970 they moved to Kelowna. Here at the age of 89, he was called to his heavenly rest on January 18, 1974. He was predeceased by his wife in 1971 and a brother, Henry, in 1972.

Remembering fondly their father's constant trust and faith in Jesus are three sons: William of Cochrane, Alta.; Walter of Vancouver; Ewald of La Glace, Alta.; one daughter, Mrs. B. (Lillian) Giesbrecht of Kelowna; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Isaac Epp ministered at the funeral, basing his words of cheer on Phil. 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
