GORDON REDEKOPP

Gordon Ralph Redekopp was born in 1954 at Hodgeville, Sask., to Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Redekopp. He received Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 6 and spent his preschool years in Kelstern, Sask., Grassy Lake, Alta., and Moose Jaw, Sask . He started school in Coaldale, Alta., and continued in Winnipeg, Pierceland and finally at Waldheim High School.

Gordon was baptized and joined the Waldheim MB Church in 1970. During his high school days, he was involved in Christian Fellowship, sports, committee work, and enjoyed drawing, playing guitar and singing. Being a camp counselor was a meaningful experience for Gordon.

He spent one year at Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask., after high school and then went to Abbotsford, B.C. to earn money for further training. The Lord took him home on July 8, 1973 when he drowned in Cultus Lake, B.C. He was 19 years old.

Funeral services were held on July 13 in the Waldheim MB Church with Rev. John Geortzen and Rev. Rudy Heidebrecht officiating. Gordon leaves to mourn his parents, 1 sister, Linda; 2 brothers, Paul and Kenneth; his grandparents, Mr. Peter Schellenberg and Mr. and Mrs. John Redekopp; and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mrs. Peter Schellenberg.
