Belleville, Pa. &#8212; On Sunday morning, June 3, a tragic accident occurred near the Locust Grove Mennonite Church when a car driven by Gilbert Huey, 58, of Allensville ran head-on into a horse and buggy driven by Korie E. Kanagy, 20.

Mr. Huey was fatally injured, and the Kanagy youth suffered a shoulder fracture and face bruises.

It is believed the car driver either fell asleep or had a heart attack. The horse went up over the hood of the car and the front hoofs went through the windshield. It had broken legs and had to be shot.

The Kanagy youth is a son of Stephen Kanagy. His cousin, Reuben Kanagy, was killed in a similar accident here May 7.

CAR DRIVER KILLED, AMISH YOUTH INJURED IN COLLISION

Belleville, Pa. — On Sunday morning, June 3, a tragic accident occurred near the Locust Grove Mennonite Church when a car driven by Gilbert Huey, 58, of Allensville ran head-on into a horse and buggy driven by Korie E. Kanagy, 20.

Mr. Huey was fatally injured, and the Kanagy youth suffered a shoulder fracture and face bruises.

It is believed the car driver either fell asleep or had a heart attack. The horse went up over the hood of the car and the front hoofs went through the windshield. It had broken legs and had to be shot.

The Kanagy youth is a son of Stephen Kanagy. His cousin, Reuben Kanagy, was killed in a similar accident here May 7.
