text of obituary:

DAVID A. VOTH

David Herman Voth was born at Kolontarowka, southern Russia, November 6, 1910, the third son of Hermann and Maria (Retzlaff) Voth, with whom he immigrated to Canada, arriving here on February 12, 1924. The family's destination was Rosthern, Sask.; however, after a few months, they settled on a farm at Gnadenthal, south of Winkler, Man. In 1932 the Voth family moved to Manitou.

David was an aggressive youth, dreaming of a business career. He pursued his education through home study courses and after graduating found employment as a mechanic in Winnipeg. He was married to Anna Dyck on October 6, 1935, at Manitou. Here he also opened a hardware and implement business, forming a company with his father. The Lord blessed their family with six children, five sons and a daughter, all of whom survive their father.

At the age of 35, David invited Jesus Christ into his life and received peace with God through the promise in John 3:16. He was baptized upon his confession of faith by Rev. B. B. Fast, February 4, 1945. He demonstrated a growing faith and desire to live worthy of his relationship with Christ. He was an active member of the Manitou MB Church, the Gideons and the Christian Business Men's Committee. He was in the farm equipment business for over 36 years. He was also involved in civic affairs and was the mayor of Manitou at the time of his death.

He passed away to be with the Lord on February 13 at the age of 61. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Annie; one daughter, Helena, Winnipeg; five sons, Franklin and Benjamin, in Manitou; Herman, Carman, Man., Harry, Teronte; and John E., Regina; as well as two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers . He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, one brother and two infant grandchildren. His testimony would be, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness .. .
