Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Ries, 93, were held Dec. 28 at the Salem Mennonite Church. A native of South Russia, she leaves four sons and three daughters.

On the 29th services were held at the Salem Zion Mennonite Church for Mrs. Jacob J. Schwartz, 92, who died in the Mitchell hospital after suffering a broken leg. She was also born in Russia. Two daughter and a number of grandchildren survive.

John M. Schrag, 87, died Jan. 3 in the Freeman hospital, and funeral services were held Jan.5 at the Salem-Zion Church. Nine children survive.

Three Pioneers Died at Freeman

Freeman, S. D. — Death removed three of this community's pioneer residents in a little over a week's time.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Ries, 93, were held Dec. 28 at the Salem Mennonite Church. A native of South Russia, she leaves four sons and three daughters.

On the 29th services were held at the Salem Zion Mennonite Church for Mrs. Jacob J. Schwartz, 92, who died in the Mitchell hospital after suffering a broken leg. She was also born in Russia. Two daughter and a number of grandchildren survive.

John M. Schrag, 87, died Jan. 3 in the Freeman hospital, and funeral services were held Jan.5 at the Salem-Zion Church. Nine children survive.
