DEATH TAKES FORMER RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR
Russia reports the death of Maxim Maximovitch Litvinoff, former Soviet ambassador to the United States, with whom the Late President Roosevelt in 1932 made the fateful agreement of full diplomatic recognition for the Communist government.
Litvinoff was 75. Although a Jew, he attended no religious services and was buried with rites entirely devoid of religious implications.
