Funeral services for Katie Froese, 25, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Abram H. Froese, Grunthal, were held Sept. 8 at the Elim Mennonite church in Grunthal. She was a graduate of the Steinbach Collegiate and had been employed in Winnipeg.

Services for Jake Penner, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Diedrich Penner of Barkfield, were held Sept. 9 at the Chortitzer church in Grunthal. He also attended school in Steinbach and was employed as a plasterer..

The group was returning from a wedding when the 1955 car owned and driven by Mr. Penner went out of control on a curve and swerved into the ditch. Injured were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Haig and Mr. and Mrs. William Burleigh, all of Winnipeg.

Two Dead in Manitoba Highway Accident

FOUR OTHERS SEVERELY HURT IN CRASH NEAR STEINBACH, MAN.

Steinbach, Man. — Two young people lost their lives and two couples riding in the car with them were severely injured in a highway accident north of here early Sunday, Sept. 4.

Funeral services for Katie Froese, 25, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Abram H. Froese, Grunthal, were held Sept. 8 at the Elim Mennonite church in Grunthal. She was a graduate of the Steinbach Collegiate and had been employed in Winnipeg.
