Retired Manitoba Merchant Died

Altona, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held in the village of Plum Coulee on Aug. 13 for A. A. Harder, 71, well know [sic] retired merchant of that place.

Born at Plum Coulee in 1884, he owned and operated a general store there for 50 years, taking over the business from his father. he was also an oil company agent and served as the village’s first telephone operator.

The funeral held in the Bergthaler church was widely attended. Mr. Harder died at a Winnipeg hospital where he had been a patient for nearly four years.
