Mrs. Roth was born at Arthur, Ill. on Dec. 13, 1878. From San Francisco they traveled northward to Oregon by boat, settling in the Needy district. Hubbard, Ore. — Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Kauffman Roth, who came to Oregon 77 years ago, were held at the Zion Mennonite church here July 5, Rev. Allen H. Erb of Lebanon officiating. She passed away July 1 at a Silverton hospital at the age of 78.
Mrs. Roth was born at Arthur, Ill. on Dec. 13, 1878 [sic 1876]. From San Francisco they traveled northward to Oregon by boat, settling in the Needy district. Following her marriage to Daniel Roth on Jan. 25, 1900, she lived in the Woodburn community for a number of years. He died in 1923.
