&#9679; Herbert Hodel, 90, formerly of Peabody, died Oct. 4 at Parkside Home, Hillsboro. Funeral services were held Oct. 7 at Goertz Memorial Chapel, Hillsboro, with Oliver Parish officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. He had worked at DeForest Hatchery and Peabody Memorial Home. Survivors include one son, Loren of Bridgewater, mich.; one daughter, Twila Elrod of Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Chris of Newton, Jake of Hillsboro and Walter of Schafter, Calif.; one sister, Eva Hodel of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife, Anna (Block), preceded him in death in 1988.
