Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the new Hopedale church, Meno, Okla. for Mrs. Pete H. Jantz, who died Thursday in Ringwood, Okla. She formerly lived in Newton, and two daughters, Mrs. Homer Eason and Mrs. Joe Partridge, reside here.

MRS. P. H. JANTZ

Mrs. Lena Wedel Jantz passed away quietly at her home near Ringwood, Okla. on Thursday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m., at the age of 57 years, four months and 17 days. She was born at Meno, Okla., on Oct 21, 1897. She lived there until the time of her marriage to Peter H. Jantz on April 15, 1917, when she moved to Tampa, Kansas. She lived in Kansas most of her younger years and in 1940 moved back to Oklahoma, settling near Fairview. A few years later she moved to a farm near Ringwood, where she lived her remaining years.

On June 14, 1914, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith and received into the New Hopedale Mennonite church of Meno, Okla. Later when she moved to Kansas she transferred her membership to the Friedenstahl Mennonite church near Tampa. She was a faithful and devout Christian mother till the end. She told her family and friends that she was ready to go to her Home in Glory to be with Jesus.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Peter H. Jantz, of the home; two sons, Verlin Jantz and Dalin Jantz, both of the home; seven daughters, Inez Jantz, of the home, Mrs, Neola Anderson and Mrs. Sadie Brandt both of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lillian May of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Mrs. Verene Eason and Mrs. Elvera Cornelson, both of Newton, Kansas; Mrs. Evelyn Partridge, of Lincoln, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; also one brother, Ben Wedel, and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Koehn, Mrs. Ida Jantz, Mrs. Minnie Unruh, Mrs. Elizabeth Redger and Mrs. Lorraine Schmidt.
