MRS. ELIZABETH DYCK

Elizaheth Dyck of Winkler, Manitoba, went to be with the Lord on April 27 in her 70th year. She was born to Johann and Maria Gurstkie on June 25, 1900, in Russia and was brought up in the home of her foster parents, Gerhard and Anna Thiessen. As a girl she accepted Christ as her Saviour and in 1924 she was baptized by Rev. Diedrich Wiebe and received into the church. On January 17, 1920 she was joined in marriage to Heinrich J. Dyck in the village of Alexanderthal where they lived until 1926. In that year they emigrated to Canada, arriving in Winkler. They lived the rest of their lives in Winkler. She and her husband were looking forward to their golden wedding anniversary when he passed away suddenly in 1968. Three other sons predeceased her in their infancy.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Anne) Kllassen and Elizabeth of Winkler and Mrs. Keith (Gloria) Cooney, Belleville, Ont.; four sons, Julius of Winkler, Jake and Henry of Winnipeg, and Frank of Bashaw, Alta.; and 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral was held in the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church on April 29 with Rev. J. M. Schmidt officiating.
