<KATHARINA THIELMANN
Katharina Thielmann (nee Wiebe) passed away suddenly at her home in Winnipeg on January 27 at the age of 69. She was born on October 31, 1900 in Margenau, South Russia, but spent most of her youth in Isulj-Kulj, Siberia, where the family had moved in 1907. In June, 1925 she was united in marriage to Martin J. Thielmann,and in 1926 they left Russia to come to Canada where they settled in the Elm Creek, Manitoba, area. Soon after their immigration to this country the Lord spoke very directly to them and they accepted him as their personal Saviour. Later, on August 7. 1927, they were baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church at Elm Creek. Their marriage was blessed with eight children, one of whom died in infancy. Her husband predeceased her in 1960. In 1961 she moved to Winnipeg where she became a member of the Elmwood Church.
Surviving her are five daughters, two sons, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law. 13 grandchildren. two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral service was held in the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Wm. Schmidt and Rev. J.W. Kroeker ministering.
