— Mrs. Elizabeth Becker, one of the first settlers to come to the newly established Mennonite community at Aberdeen, Idaho, in 1909, died recently in a Pocatello hospital after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church of Aberdeen, Sunday afternoon, May 19, with Rev. H. N. Harder officiating. Her husband and five children survive. | |||

Elisabeth Schultz-Becker, Aberdeen, Idaho wurde geboren den 30 Oktober, 1880 in Rußland. Ihre Eltern waren David T. und Sara (Wiens) Schultz. 1884 kam sie mit ihren Eltern nach Amerika, wo sie in Springfield, Süd Dakota auf einer Farm sich niederliessen. Ihre Mutter starb dort in 1892. Bald darauf zog ihr Vater nach Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Den 22. Juli, 1900 wurde sie von Aelt. Aaron Wall auf ihr Glaubensbekenntnis getauft und in die Brudertaler Gemeinde aufgenommen. Den 26. Oktober, 1902 verehelichte sie sich mit David J. Becker von Mountain Lake. Dieser Ehe wurden sechs Kinder geboren, wovon ein Mädchen in der Kindheit starb. 1909 zog die Familie nach Aberdeen, Idaho wo sie sich dann auch bald der Gemeinde anschlossen. Sie beteiligte sich sehr aktiv im Schwesterverein. Sie war eine liebevolle und gläubige Mutter. Sie wurde den 14. Mai, plötzlich krank und ins Hospital in Pocatello gebracht. Auf Anraten des Arztes wurde sie den folgenden Tag operiert. Es war Krebs und keine Hoffnung für Genesung. Sanft entschlief sie am 16. Mai des Morgens. Es trauern um sie: ihr Gatte und fünf Kinder: John, David, Henry, Edwin und Irene. Drei Schwiegertöchter Anna, Mrs. J. D. Becker; Gladys, Mrsa. Henry Becker; Elma, Mrs. Edwin Becker; und ein Schwiegersohn, Prediger David Johnson und sechs Großkinder. Es überleben sie 4 Schwestern: Mrs. John J. M. Dick, Mountain Lake; Mrs. John Stoeß, Butterfield; Mrs. David Olfert, Lustre, Montana; und Mrs. Dietrich Warkentin, Dalmany, Canada. Die Begräbnisfeier fand statt am 19. Mai in der First Mennonite Church, Aberdeen, Idaho geleitet von Prediger H. N. Harder. Text: John. 17:24. Ruhestätte auf dem Friedhof West von Aberdeen.

MRS. DAVID J. BECKER
Elisabeth (Schultz) Becker, daughter of David T. and Sara (Wiens) Schultz, was born in Russia on October 30, 1880. In 1884 she came to America with her parents, who settled on a farm near Springfield, South Dakota.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, David J. Becker, and five children, John, David, Henry, and Edwin of Aberdeen, Idaho, tree daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and six grandchildren. Besides these there remain four sisters, Mrs. John J. M. Dick of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, Mrs. John Stoesz of Butterfield, Minnesota, Mrs. David Olfer of Lustre, Montana, and Mrs. Dietrich Warkentin of Saskatchewan, Canada, and many other relatives and friends.
